These writing systems are super easy to learn and you could be reading and speaking Japanese within an hour of study. In fact in the beginning, you’ll learn hiragana and katakana, which are two ABCDEFG… (etc) based writing systems. Of course Kanji seems daunting, but over the years of dabbling, I’ve found that the Japanese writing system is actually not too difficult to really figure out at all.
But you would be surprised how quickly you can start to speak and read Japanese. Time to learn Japanese! It’s actually very easy and fun! Japanese is certainly different then English! The written and spoken languages really bound on different aspects.
